ASM/ED is dog slow!
I didn't do much assembly programming but if I wrote anything larger
than say 100 lines of code I was probably using Synapse SynAssember
which was very fast.
The silver lining was it created some good habits in me. I used to test code after just about every line entered. After working with the ASM/ED cart I started writing routines that actually did stuff before I would test them for a clean compile. Amount of code I wrote before I would compile usually dovetailed closely with bathroom breaks or getting something to eat. I'm still the Oscar Madison of programming but I forced myself to write cleaner code to avoid all the errors I used to let in.
