2006 Programming Contest Results

While registrations for the 2006 Programmin contest were numbered at
several dozen, the number of entrants who completed their packages in
time were sadly very low.

After review of the entries by A.P.P.L.E. Staff, only one was found
valid.

1st Prize
Our 2006 Winner and recipient of the CFFA Card and cash is Jean Marc
Boutillon. His entry in the contest will be available as part of the
next issue of Call-A.P.P.L.E. magazine and will be downloadable by our
members.

2nd Prize
No valid Entry

3rd Prize
No valid Entry

Honorable Mention
Mark Storks program, the Apple 1 emulator for the Apple II, although
officially disqualified due to the program being a modification of
another program as well as being developed outside the contest
timeframe, still deserves mention. for his effort, he will recieve
the Call-A.P.P.L.E. collection on DVD.

For those of you who participated, we thank you and wish you better
luck next time. For those who did not complete their packages in
time, we will run another contest later this year for the 2007 time
frame

Hmmm.

I'd say that the evidence confirms my opinion (stated when the contest
was announced) that the contest imposed too many restrictions for the
current state of the Apple II community.

"Beggars can't be choosers."

Perhaps "better luck next time" should be applied to the rulemakers. ;-)
