There appears to be a problem with the 'apple.cabi.net.tar.gz' archive
(or with WinZip, which I'm using to view the contents).

The total path length is exceeding some limit, causing filenames to be
truncated and making them non-unique.

For example, in the archived directory:

apple.cabi.net\Languages.Programming\DRIVER.SRC\Stylewriter_Driver_SRC.CODE\stylewriter\scripts

there are two files named 'dir' and three named 'sty', clearly the
result of truncation.

Works for me...the archive unpacked OK on one of my Linux boxes.

I suspect the problem is with WinZip, as the directory structure doesn't
look like something that should cause a problem with Windows. WinZip's
tarball handling has (IMO) always left something to be desired.

I'd recommend using GNU tar, which is available for Windows as a part of
Cygwin:

http://www.cygwin.com/

It's part of the base Cygwin install, so you shouldn't need to select extra
packages to get it working.

Interesting... I just ran it through PowerArchiver 6.1 and got the same
result--filenames truncated to 3 letters.

I just tried it with GNU tar on Cygwin (now that the files are accessible to
a Windows box), and it unpacked them properly. Again, I'd recommend going
that route:

tar xzf apple.cabi.net.tar.gz
