The different plugs on a monitor (CVBS, S-Video, YPbPr, SCART, VGA)
each have different standards associated with them. The specs do not
list the standardized specs... because they are assumed you will deduce
them from the presence of the plug. SCART is a defined standard, so
you don't need to worry about the scan rate... any SCART device will
work.
And it just so happens that the IIgs natively puts out "SCART"
compatible video.. and you get the right plug using Roger Johnstone's
cable (a shameless plug for a plug).

940MP etc models would also be capable of the same?>>
Not here in the USA.. those other models do NOT come with the SCART
connector here. My theory is that since the 910MP is a lower cost
model, they were able to lower cost by making one unit for worldwide
distribution... thus the fluke of a SCART connector monitor in the USA.

I have a Samsung SyncMaster 940MW that I bought on sale a couple weeks ago
for $349.99 USD after rebates at Office Depot. It is a 19" (wide version
1440 x 900) lcd monitor/TV with what looks to me like a SCART connector
although they call it an EXT(RGB) connector. I know nothing about SCART so
I'm only going by pictures of SCART connectors for comparison. Their
documentation is a little weak but here is what they say about it:
-------
1-2. Connecting EXT.(RGB) - It only applies to AV DEVICE that supports
SCART.
Connect to the DVD Devices input if the device has a EXT (RGB) jack.
You can watch DVD simply by hooking up the DVD with the monitor as long as
the power is on.
1. Connect the EXT (RGB) port of the monitor to the DVD Player using a SCART
jack.
2. Select Ext. using the SOURCE.
