I am in touch with that problem. I have a RAM-GS 4MB board and my IIGS
boots up until it starts to put the hard drive icons on the desktop.
It beeps as the last one is supposed to be placed and locks up.
I put in a different card and no problem.
The RAM-GS board has 32 128K zip RAM chips with the pins on the side
that are soldered in to the board. There is no way to hunt for the bad
chip, or chips, much less replacements.
Its too bad. :(
