Ram-4-GS - fried?

Apparantly, my Ram-4-GS got fried at some point. Not sure if it was some
power surge, my 7 year old (he's been using the on/off button and it's not
a clean off/on that he does), or something else. The IIGS is extremely
flakey unless I swap out this card with the old 1MB Apple card.
Anyone know if I can start pulling off the SIMMs to see if any of them are
fried? I tried pulling one off and the computer didn't start at all, so I
just stopped before something _really_ stupid happened. Maybe there is
some pairing thing...?
I figure 2MB or 3MB is as good. Definately better than the 1MB card I'm
currently working with. Plus, I can't get into Merlin-16!! :-/
Anyway, ideas? The card is pretty darn simple - just the 4 SIMMs and a
74HCT138 which I could probably sodder myself. Nothing gets hot on the
card, so smoking guns so-to-speak.
TIA!
