You can do it without the battery, since +5 is available on the
game connector:

Gnd >----------+
If you're triggering more than one Apple, you only need to connect
to the +5 of one of them, and will only need one 220 ohm resistor.
In other words, just run the "PB0" and "Gnd" lines to the other
computers.
