Re: TransWarp IIgs GAL's - Upgrade now possible

got the below info sent..so have some additonal info on my twgs rev c w/ae
32k cache daughter board i posted before..this should be more
clear....re-read the chips

quote

The GAL's listed are just their part numbers
from Lattice. Normally they would have a small sticker on
them, or some small stamped writing which I bet is what
yours has.

ok...this is what i can see partially removing the card
for the gals

twgs1a-1 on the gal16v8-15lp (seeinfoprevmsg)

twgs2a-1 2nd chip below...same type as above

the longer chips below (see prev letter) have stamped on them

twgs3b-1 twgs6a-1

twgs4a-1 twgs7a-1

twgs5a-1 twgs8a-1

anyway...looking at a twgs card i'm sure you can see the order..more or less
like above assuming my columns work

with my prev post/info people can get an idea on this

i guess i only ran at 13.75mhz for 11 years 24/7 on the lost gonzo bbs
(55mhz crystal) oh well...your speed may vary

just remember to HEAT the exacto knife if you have to cut the traces for the
32k cache board or the twgs uprgrade mod (i forget which just did it with a
cold exacto knife..it would skip accross the back of the board...i'd dance
the dance of dismay...and toss stuff for 10min at my walls...plug it
in.....it would work at 7mhz..whew...do it again..it would skip...repeat
above..would work at 7mhz....and 3rd time i managed to do it ..still
skipping accross board...and very lucky no damage..and it then worked at
13.75 mhz...i have yet to upgrade another twgs to 14mhz i have here ..even
thou the parts are here too.due to the stress and potenial nightmares of the
whole experience...anyway someone told me to heat the xeacto knife and then
lightly cut.slow little scratches until it got to the traces that needed to
be cut thru the plastic at the proper depth.....duh...

anybody here who has better info can reply here...all i know is my method i
used sucked...

anyway...that is the further info i have on this
