This is Bart. Keeper of the Network from Heck.
I find myself in need of loot so...
I have for sale 1 Transwarp GS.
Let me tell the tale of this gadget: I purchased it many years ago dead. It
was totally dysfunctional.
What I did was remove all the chips on it, clean and reseat, I replaced one
chip (its been so long I forget which), Got a new ribbon wire from Joachim
Lange, Replaced the '816 with the more modern one..... and ...its ALIVE (que
Dr Frankenstien maniacal laughter).
Now the down side: It has the original 8 k cache card on it, and I cannot
get the dang thing above around 6.5mhz I have a collection of various
crystals, mainly recovered off various ISA SCSI, and video cards that went
off to dumpster heaven after giving their all..
I have tried many speeds but, every one I try gives me the Call AE for
service screen except for a couple.. that are
~25-27mhz which give me ranges from 6-6.5mhz.... wussy but working. Oh
well.. It IS stable at this speed though and has been in a ROM3 for many
many years and is sitting there now.
Now as to what I want for it.... well, I do not do eBay so, you don't see a
funny star next to my name. Ask around the A2 community if you wanna know
about my dealings, and Google "The Network From Heck" if you want to see
what unspeakable things can be done with Apple IIs.
My price is a firm 350 bucks for this beast. "as is"
If interested, you can place quill to parchment and communicate with
pilgrimer at Sheppy's service. -That's syndicomm dot com folks... and its a
nice place too ;)
