Re: Connect CPC to VGA-TFT-Display?

Hi!!!

Today I have try with this!!!

http://www.converters.tv/products/converters/rgb_converters/41.html
____
Features:

* 14.5k ~ 16.5k CGA to 29.0k ~ 33.0k VGA conversion
* Supports combined and separated frequencies of horizontal and
vertical sync
* +5v needed for PCB to work

Specifications:

* Input 1 (J01) Sync. Combination CGA Signal
* Video: ANALOG rgb 15Vpp/1K Ohms (adjust by VR01)
* Sync.: Negative H/V, TTL 3.5~ 5.0Vpp
* Input 2 (J02) Sync. Separation CGA Signal
* Video: Analog RGB 15Vpp/ 1K Ohms (adjust by VR01)
* Sync.: Negative/ Positive, H, V TTL 3.5 ~ 5.0Vpp
* Output (J03)VGA/ SVGA Signal
* Video: Analog RGB 0.7Vpp/75 Ohms
* Sync. Negative Separate TTL 5.0Vpp
* Input 1 (J01) CGA Video Connector: 5Pin (R, G, B, GND, Sync.)
* Input 2 (J02) CGA Video Connector: 8Pin (R,G,B, GND, H, V, NC, GND)
* Output (J03) VGA/ SVGA Video Connector: 15Pin D-Sub(Standard)
* Adjustor: Contrastive Adjustor (VR01)

It gives a nice image, and also works with TFT!!!

But there is one problem...

the Composite Sync connector on the adapter doesn't work for CPC
composite sync, it's "out of range" for CGA compatibility...

I have tried feeding with separate Horizontal and Vertical syncs, and
it works fine!! I have used the 39 and 40 pins from the CRTC

For me there is no trouble for this, because the adapter is intended
for a PC-AT Box with my CPC in it, but i think you can use one of
several separators (Is just a cheap little chip, LM1881) and use
separate sync from the DIN connector...

Also you can replace the luminance output with the Hsync signal from
the CRTC, but can't use that CPC with green monitors anymore!!! (Vsync
looks to work even if you feed it with the CPC's Composite sync!!)

As I have said, this board was for "in a PC case" use... It just uses
5V...

Maybe someone could use it for a symbiface II+VGA output combo for a
CPC Dockstation!! (Using the LM1881 separator)

Hello folks,

how can i connect a cpc 6128+ to a vga-tft-display? where can i get a needed
interface or circuit-plan?

The 50 Hz-screen makes me sick! ;-)
