Here's an update on my A3000 Woes. I noticed that when the A3000 loads the
OS2.xx bootrom it will switch to Cli screen(Like its about to start the
startup sequence, then it will immediately give me a smaller windows that
says the computer ran into a Software error. Hitting retry will do nothing,
hitting cancel will cause the machine to give me the previously mentioned
Guru errors, usually the 8000 0004. Anyone have a spare harddrive they can
load some bootroms on to help a brother out. :) Throw me some good working
bootroms on then donate it to me. :D
Also when I tried to use Mike' Floppies. They would either reboot with a
guru error, or not reboot at all. :(

I have an A3000 that seems to have a problem booting. What happens is, when
I have the original A3000 HD in, it loads the ROMs then Gurus. It will
continue to Guru, 8000 0004 or 8000 0003, I believe those are the errors it
gives me, until I cut the computer off. I pulled the Fastlane Z3 board, but
I still get the same problem.
I managed to get the thing to boot to an A2000 harddrive once using some
Floppys that Mike Leavitt was nice enough to mail...Thanks a bunch Mike.
But due to whatever problems that HD would not boot to the workbench. I
can get the Amiga to boot to some floppys(OS 1.3 compatibles mostly) but
it won't boot an OS1.3 Workbench disk. In fact it won't boot ANY disk that
otherwise would let me boot to workbench. Anyone haven any ideas as to
what can be done about it?
Problem two is that I have a Retina Z2 card, and I used to have the CGFX
4.2 Beta driver for it. My problem is that I never really had a problem
with how slow it was because I never bothered playing games with it. It
loaded workbench fine for me, but there seems to be a lot of Hub-bub about
its lack of speed in gaming so the CGFX team never formally released the
driver. I heard of a bit of incompatiibility with it as well, but I had
the driver at two different times and both times it worked with both cards
I had. And it worked flawlessly! In fact the only complaint I have is that
I can't get ahold of the driver again. Anyone know where any of the
CyberGFX team is anymore? Do they still have the driver? and if so? can I
have it again? PLEASE? ;)
Also in looking on amiga-hardware.com, I noticed that the Retina Z2 has
both EGS and Basic AGA emulation modes, Could I somehow trick the CGFX
drivers into working by using those? Do I need to? My only desire is to be
able to fully use OS 3.9 and my internet programs in full 24 Bit Mode. No
speed requirements as from what I seen in OS3.1 the speed was fine for me.
I guess what I'm asking is, Will OS3.5 and 3.9 use my Retina Z2
screenmodes? Will Programs, like IBrowse, Aweb, AmIRC, etc. etc. work with
a Retina Z2 without CybergraphX or Picasso 96 enabled?
I also would like a working copy of OS2.xx or OS3.1 ROMs for the Amiga as
well, so I can put a fresh install of the OS on my HD and finally run my
Amiga reliably.
TIA
