They're only worth what people are prepared to pay, just because some
people don't want to pay that much doesn't mean it isn't worth that.
Take an antique vase for example - I wouldn't pay 2.50 for one but some
people pay thousands :-)
A couple of years ago I sold an Atari Falcon, basic spec, for 200 quid
no questions. Was it worth the money? It certainly seemed so to the
guy who bought it. I know there were far fewer of those around than
Amiga 1200's but they're of similar power so why shouldn't the 1200 be
worth something too?

A third element would be the costs of taking you to court which are not insubstantial. ... So as you see, if you have made a very minor impact on the distributors trade, then most of the money awarded against you might be the court cost element and if they realise that since you have done very little actual business they may well end up spending thousands to save pennies and thus hope that a few threatening letters will put a stop to you. ... I believe that's part of the issue, that the art sold on the ships is priced higher than if it were on land. ...
