Can a device have two MAC numbers?

Hi all networkers,
On the home LAN there is a wireless device which allows computers
to communicate wirelessly with other computers on the LAN and
beyond the LAN. According to *arp -a it has MAC number
vv:ww:xx:yy:zz:2e while according to "Wireless Networks - Visible
Access Points" on my Asus Eee PC 1000 (Yes folks I have just bought
one!) there are two entries one having MAC number vv:ww:xx:yy:zz:2F,
that is one different from above, and the other with a totally
different MAC number. I think one of these, presumably the latter,
is someone down the road! I have a choice of connecting via either
"access point"; but perhaps I should not piggyback on a neighbour's
network. :-)
My son set up the wireless connection which only he uses with his
Apple computer, so I don't know anything about it. I would like to
be sure that I am connecting via this point in the house.
Help appreciated.
Cheers,
Dave Lane
PS the Eee PC 1000 comes with Linux installed, so I have not paid the
B. Gates tax. :-)))
