It only seems to generate a log if manually requested by a menu
option. (It's very easy to forget to do that).

Doesn't !KeStroke let one automate that sort of thing? (And that
app's PD these days).

I have and used Keystroke for a number of years, but I can't say I
remember any auto function like that... ie: Save the log at closed
down.

Jeremy.
There is an Autosave setup possible (Page 44 Keystroke manual) I've set it
up but it doesn't work with SockStats. (Though it does work with other
active app windows).
(It is also possible to set up an incremental file name AutoSave)

It is possible to set up a manual keypress Save using Ks, but that still
requires pressing keys, and remembering to do it in the first place.

Why can't keystroke, or Druck's Windopen do the key-pressing for you? Also
I'm sure Steve Revill has announced some software "MouseCmd" (or something)
for forcing simulate dmouse activity. Maybe some combination of those will
do what you want.

Goingback to SockStats, if you manually request the info concerned, is it
presented in a wimp window, rather than being written to a file and then
that displayed? Or is it written to a normal command output window (in
which case running the thing in a taskwindow or with redirected output)
might save it.

But it doesn't, it doesn't generate a log file until you do Mouse Menu
over active window, Save -> Drag file or insert pathname.

So use software to automate that - what's the problem?
