News connection

My ISP is Tiscal broadband, and in most respects it works okay, but in
recent months I've had trouble with the news service.

It will work okay during the day, but during the evenings it becomes
intermittent and sometimes there's no connection at all for the whole
evening. like this evening.

Mail and browsing still work perfectly okay.

If I now power up the old 56K Modem and dialup another ISP I keep for
emergencies, the news up and downloads (slowly) but completely okay, with
the exception of news.tiscali.co.uk which won't connect.

I've form emailed Tiscali support, but just keep getting thrown bot
answers that have no relevance to the problem in hand.

Anyone else here use tiscali as an ISP having news connection problems
during evenings?

PS:
On this SARPC Newshound 1.50-32 is used.
News servers are:
cnews.corel.com
news.mozilla.org
News.Individual.NET (Etc)
news.tiscali.co.uk (Etc)

I've also tried news connection on another SARPC and a Win machine using
both Gemini and Thunderbird.
