Last time I checked (I'll check again) Waitrose were offering a free
BT Voyager 210 router, which seems to be a perfect match for my immediate
needs - a USB port to which I can connect my PC (but only when running
Windows?), and an Ethernet port to which I can connect my I-cubed
EtherLan 600 (I presume that the fact that the Voyager supports DHCP
doesn't mean that it requires my RPC to support it too?).
You normally either use the USB port or the ethernet, not both
together. What you want need to do is connect the router's ethernet
port to a switched hub, which all the computers are plugged in to. You
can then access the internet from any computer, regardless of any of
the others being turned on.
