An updated vesion of LM98? Are WSS out there? Or does someone else know
more?..

I've asked many times for any developers that are interested to take
on LanMan98 and to add vital features such as encrypted passwords
which would enable it to work better with XP and Vista (but I suspect
Vista needs other changes), but there has never been a sniff of a
response. Its a shame as I've got the 32 bitted source, it looks
fairly managable and WSS's can be convinced to allow further
development.

It does seem a shame.
I paid for my copy of LM98, and I *would* pay again for an updated version.

I have just tried Omni 2.04 and get the same result as I do when using
LM98.

The Shared directory on the Vista machine is displayed on the RO screen, I
can D&D things into that window okay but cannot drag or Run things out of
it.

The usual..."Access not allowed" message arrives.
Interestingly (or not, depending) I've reviewed the security setting and
permissions for the shared directory on the Vista machine, and I, The
administrator own and have given Share access permissions for that
directory, but still it won't play ball.

Blaaa!

However just to really annoy me...
While I've been experimenting with this problem, I've created three shared
directories in various places on the V machine, all have the same access
permissions, and while two of them are openly accessible from the XP PC
the third is not, and stubbornly refuses to play ball.

Cheers
