That is true IF the wirelessly connected systems are using the Linksys
router as the default gateway. In this situation, the PC sends the
packet to the router to send on. The router expects its Internet port
to go to the outside world. (This is why you can't use the DHCP server
within the Linksys - it sets itself up as the default gateway.)
However if you set the wireless PCs up with the real Internet router
(the wired one) as the default gateway, then the packets will be sent
there. They are not processed by the Linksys, merely sent on, in
switch mode. Thus it doesn't incorrectly route them. (As far as it is
concerned they are addressed to another machine on the LAN.)
That was why I specified that Paul should use the gateway address of the
internet connected router.
