Hi All
I have a RiscPC with an i3 ethernet interface, and I can't get it
recognised on my network; it can only see its own drives.
The cabling seems OK in that the light goes on and off as I
connect/disconnect the ethernet cable into the router.
I've set the Internet-Interfaces-Configure to 192.168.7.111 to
match all the other computers.
I've configured EHconnection (which was set to auto) to 10baseT.
I found a copy of etherb (the ANT one) in one of the directories
of !boot (can't remember which one) so I removed it (presumably
the computer had had an ANT ethernet at some stage).
I can't think what else to try!
Any ideas, anyone, please?
My guess is that the usual tricks are to try out the ethernet card and
the core links with:
*h.ether.
(both the full stops are important)
This should give a list of commands, and they might include e*info and
e*test (where * is the letter for your software, probably an 'h'). Try
them and see what happens.
The other command to thrash is ping, from this RPC to any other micro on
the network, though some Win XPs will not respond to ping. A successful
result means that the core network is working.
