Not really. When NTL reconfigure their network you have to reboot your
cable modem. How often that happens depends on how many users they
gain/lose in your area, or upgrades (eg we're supposed to be on 4MB now but
it needs a router reboot to take effect). Usually when the connection dies
the first thing I do is stick my head out of the window to look for an NTL
van. If this happens there's often a reboot needed.
Also if NTL stuff up their network you might need to ring techsupport and
tell them the pattern of lights on the cable modem, or talk to it by USB (if
you have a Windows box handy). Having the phone in one room and the
modem+computer in another made this a quite tedious process.
