With the cable modem connected to the PC, open a command window
and type "ipconfig /all" (minus quotes). Your assigned DNS will be in
amongst the other information returned.

You might get useful advice on the Vigor 2300 from the forum on the
Draytek web site - you do need to register. I still own (but no longer
use) a Vigor 2200USB ADSL router, and from what I can remember there was
a lot of useful information available.
