LanMan98 problem

Does not have the above in Administrative Tools.

Sorry, we must be using completely different versions of XP, I can't find
any of it, all I know is, connection is TCP/IP

However, searching around in Network Connections > Menubar Advanced >
Adaptors & Bindings, I manually ticked on Bindings for LAN "File and
Printer sharing for Microsoft Networks" and suddenly LM98 does the
business.

I'm now going to reboot both computers and see if it sticks.

<Pause>
Yup! It's all still working okay.

So this begs a question, how the (rude word) did it get switched off?
