"Which" has just sent me a "History of Computing".
It mentions Colossus, Eniac and Edvac, the ZX81, the
ZXSpectrum and the Commodore Pet, IBM, Microsoft and Apple.
There is no mention whatever of the BBC or RISC OS!

Further to this, "Which" tell me to access two URLs for further
information on computer history:

www.oldcomputers.net www.computerhistory.org

Neither of these mentions either the BBC or RISC OS!

They're both American sites, so no surprises there...

IIRC the BBC micro didn't pass the FCC radiation standard and,
certainly as originally built, couldn't be used in the US. I
remember having my BBC B in the same room as my CB radio and had to
turn it off to use the CB.

And I recall using the BBC micro on my desk, the kitchen being on the
other side of the wall. Complaints galore from SWMBO that it was
interfering with the radio.

and I had to get an external aerial for the tuner in my study which had
been fine on a (supplied) flexible T aerial up till then.
