Unicode please!!

I run RISCOS 4.02 on a RISC PC 600 and my main WP package is
TechWrite. I want to use it for myself, AND be able to export my stuff
to the MS-DOS world. Increasingly I am having to be able to write
eastern European scripts, with "Z with a hook over it" (Czech) or "L-
cross" (Polish), though I haven't yet had to cope with Cyrillic.

I can't get X-Chars to paste correctly into either Messenger or
TechWrite, eg "Z with a hook over it" appears as 3/4. I tried writing
this as text in !Draw, so that I could then convert the image of the
letter into a miniature gif and be sure that it wouldn't be lost or
corrupted in its passage through WORD, .pdf, etc. But I can't get even
the first stage to work, write "Z with a hook over it" in !Draw

What to do?
