Re: Keyboard navigation on RISC OS?

From what I've experimented with, I can select a few files in sequence, then
skip some and select a few more, skip some more, go back and unselect an
accidentally selected file etc. all with the keyboard.

Thanks for that, Steve. It's nice to see that at least _someone_ can
read a question and provide a sensible and useful answer.

It's a shame RISC OS Ltd hasn't seen fit to document this properly on
the public facing website, rather than just refer to keyboard
shortcuts (or whatever the actual wording was). When described
properly, it becomes a selling point - but without that proper
description, people can be put off by the potential for
disappointment.

Also, a fully detailed, public facing document explaining all of these
things would make it possible for developers working on the shared
sources to build in the equivalent enhancements, whereas if anyone
attempts to add keyboard support to the filer without such an
explanation, they risk going down a different path - different keys
performing the same actions, the same keys performing different
actions.

Not only would this be very undesirable, its cause would be counter to
the agreement between ROL and ROOL: If compatibility is to be
maintained between the two development streams, then the closed source
stream should at least document its changes in such a way that
potential developers of the shared source stream can see what those
changes are and maintain compatibility. (The reverse situation should
also be true - and is by default, by the very nature of the shared
source scheme).
