It's not surprising. Subjects such as mathematics, science and computing
tend to be populated with individuals who tend to have more autistic
traits than a random sample from the population, e.g. individuals with
obvious aspergers, or individuals who are extremely pedantic. These
individuals are often very good mathematicians/scientists/programmers,
have an incredibly good grasp of logic, but often lack social skills
such as the ability to empathise, collaborate and, in particular, to
compromise.
