I am probably not qualified to comment on this subject other than I am
a potential buyer of upgraded Risc OS machinery. My wish is that the

compete. Everyone who 'loves' the platform should pull together. Then
with the best brains pooling what they have we could again make
progress. I certainly will not buy a new machine until we have only
one outlet of support.
Amen. I fear the bitterness between ROL and Castle and the passing of
time have made the goal of a properly united OS beyond reach. The two
companies' unwillingness to work together has been the biggest source
of user discontent and stagnation for years. In the absence of any
insider knowledge about the split, I can only assume they're both as
bad as each other.
I do hope that ROOL and ROL are able to work together more
productively, although it's quite hard to see how they can take things
forward to any great extent. As I've said here before, I feel a
unified release of some problematic components, such as the Toolbox,
Clib and Printer Manager, might go a long way towards restoring trust
and optimism. Though it may be impossible for both commercial and
technical reasons.
