I've an elderly - but adequate - iiyama vision master 17 monitor which I

Trying to liberate shelf/workstation space in my crowded office - which it
and I share with a WinXP box and a couple of printers - I'm wondering
about standing the monitor on top of the Risc PC. The welcome guide says
you CAN put a monitor of up to 16 kilogrammes on top of the Risc PC. I
haven't weighed the iiyama but it is pretty heavy. Does anyone have any
relevant views or experience?
I've had a 17" Sony CRT monitor on top of mine for years. I haven't
weighed it either. No apparent ill effects.
Bathroom scales, which I suspect most people have, will do the job
of weighing the monitor.
