Is it possible to send and receive mail by satellite yet, ie. using my
satellite dish.

Orpheus were looking into the possibility of supplying satellite broadband,
but it's still very expensive. It's around £1500 for initial
setup/equipment (includes dish and transmitter/receiver) and about £50 -
£200 a month for a 512Kbps download/128Kbps upload link. This solution
would be totally satellite, ie. you wouldn't even require a phone, and I
could supply worldwide (ie. we wouldn't be constrained by 'BT lines' or
'local' telecoms companies).
It would also be useful for paranoid people because the satellite solutions
I was looking at, are a lot harder to eavesdrop or intercept.

Cor! That's interesting.

The answer is yes,at a price. Just the job if I set up somewhere with
no phone lines.
