Hi All,
Every year I print a *** of Christmas labels for using on presents
of the "To X from Y" variety.
The labels are made up of a series of small images of eg a Christmas
Tree or a Santa which I downloaded years ago from the net, together
with the message.
There are a total of 21 lables on the A4 *** and 33 images.

Others have made suggestions regarding memory, conversion to JPEG,
etc. so I won't revisit that...
However, what you are doing is exactly the sort of thing that LaBella
was designed for - <http://www.rayfavre.me.uk/>
Indeed.
Another suggestion is that the OP has run into the 8-bit printing
problem with the RISC OS Postscript 2 driver. If so, ensure all the
images are converted to 16-bit; while the file may be larger, Postscript
handles it much better.
Imagemaster - currently traded as DpingScan - will do this sort of
transformation standing on its head.
