Not really. Are you intending to lug a printer with you so that you
can print something out?

The A9Home is sold as a home machine and its frequently quoted size
advantage was quoted in terms of desk space for home use.

It's usefulness it's its size and portability, returning to "base"
to do things like printing. I could imagine sitting there on the
train with it, entering data, preparing documents, but sitting there
with a printer as well?

Sorry, I cannot really imagine anyone working with it on a train. You
would have to have some sort of a portable monitor and an external
battery pack to power both the machine and the monitor. While it is in
theory possible I do not think that this usage mode will catch on, so
any discussion of the A9Home as a portable machine is purely academic.

But A6 have apparently managed to fit the machine to the back of
monitor. Surely all that's needed is a portable mains adaptor for use
on the train?

I thought A6 had fitted an A9 board /inside/ a widescreen monitor, but it
isn't a production model.

I wasn't aware that trains in the UK had mains outlets to plug computers
into and you also need your keyboard and mouse as well. The whole thing
gets a bit cumbersome trying to balance it all on your lap!

Oh - and if there is no mains available, you will need a large battery to
power the monitor and A9 for the duration of the journey. The monitor
invariably takes 12V at a few amps - what voltage and current does the A9
take?

I don't really think the A9 is practical as a portable machine for use
while travelling. As a /transportable/ for use at the other end maybe, but
the monitor and keyboard etc also has to be lugged around.
