I use floppy discs to transfer Organizer data between my computer

it had read it earlier, and all other disc tried have produced the
same error.

Can anyone suggest a cause as this is occuring with increasing

Have you cleaned the heads with a cleaning disc?
No, but as I said it will either read all discs or, when the 'Disc
not formatted' error has appeared, none; unless I try to format a
disc after which I can again read all discs. I cant't see how any
fault in the drive could cause this.
popped the lid off and wiggled the FDD's data and power connectors.
To be more thorough you could strip the slices further down and unplug/
replug the motherboard connections as well. No promises, but after
said wiggling, the drive happily wrote to the same disk which had just
failed to mount.
