Downloading - RISC OS versus Linux

First I should explain that I'm still in my early days of learning
web-building.
I'm running a DJ website for my son. I've put up some music mix
files for him, the idea being that folk listen to them and then
hopefully hire him.
He doesn't want folk to be able to download and save to disc as they
are his original mixes, (not my taste at all BTW!), just play them.
I'm using Oregano2, NetSurf, WebsterXL and Firefox,(Deer Park Alpha
2), on my Kinetic RiscPC. The result of the coding I have used,
(copied from elsewhere with the site-owner's permission), is that all
of them offer a Save-As box when the files are clicked on, just what
he doesn't want,(except Firefox which gives you a choice of opening
or saving).
On the PC side of my RisCube, (networked to the RPC), the same coding
exactly causes both Firefox and Internet Explorer, (v.6) to load the
files directly into QuickTime or Media Player, (I think it is),
without asking what you want to do, and lets you play them. I can't
find any way of saving to disc from these, but as that is just what we
require that's ok. I did try an oldish version of Nescape Communicator
as well but that wouldn't open his Mixes page properly, even though it
did the other non-fileholding pages ok.
I don't have Linux, nor Mac. Can anyone tell me how these platforms
compare with the RISC OS and PC behaviour above, please? On Macs,
would Internet Explorer behave the same as on a PC and what does
Surfari do?
