Re: Any news from the South West Show?

Hi,

No, it is the same anywhere. Buy your new Fraud Karp basic and get it
upgraded to the next version for half price. Ever heard of buy one get
one half price? If you were insane enough to buy a Win98 box and had
had the prerequisite lobotomy and went for the "upgrade" to XP for 100
quid, you'd have a bargain.

The point is that any PC you buy comes with either the latest software
installed, or you can upgrade it for free over the internet. You don't
have to pay any extra for the latest enhancements.

Try telling that to a Mac user! Try telling that to someone who buys a
machine from PC World as well! OSX users normally have to pay from OSX
to X.1 to X.2 to X.3 to X.4 (unless I've misread things and completely
lost it).

The OEM version is about 200 quid.

Not if you look around it isn't. I paid £116 for XP Pro a couple of years
ago and a quick google gives XP Home £63 and XP Pro £87. All OEM, but no
need to buy anything else.

200 quid was the last price I was told of, but I'll admit, it was a good
while back.

RISCOS Ltd are doing a special offer of Adjust at the moment for £67.
Probably a better deal than subscribing to Select.

Yep - you actually will see something for your money <*ducks*>

That said, is the offer available for RiscStation boxes or is it just
RPCs and Kinetic owners?
