At least when you get it wrong on a calculator the results tends to be
ridiculously large or small and hence tells you you made a mistake.

With a slice rule this is much more difficult as all results tend to have
the same format.

Mind you, it is probably because I started with a slide rule that I can
make a quick mental calculation as to the rough result and thus keep
calculator errors under control - allegedly.
