My Acorn AKF 12 on my A3000 has finally died on me, is there anyway I
can connect a monitor from an A5000 or RISC PC to the A3000, or is it
a case of hoping a AKF 12 comes up on ebay!?!

FWIW:
If you aren't in the mood to make your own adapter Maplin sell a 9->15
pin VGA adapter, so allowing you to connect the A3000 to a 'standard'
monitor - works fine for me.
Uniqueway Classic Computing (on eBay) often sell very similar adapters
too - a bit smaller that the Maplin one. If I didn't already have one
I'd probably get this one.
Apart from setting the motherboard links as mentioned in the links
above it's worth mentioning the A3000 will need a 'forgiving' monitor
to get usable output - my AFK85 works fine...
....or, if you have / can get / make a VIDC-enhancer - there's
instructions here: http://www.riscos.org/legacy/vidc.html if you feel
up to it.
Apart from the above it may be less hassle to buy / make an A3000
SCART adapter - these come up on eBay fairly often too.
Hope that helps a bit.
Regards.
