I've never managed to get any mice to work consistently on my KVM,
either on PC or RPC (with PS2Mouse) or Iyonix, using a variety of
mice, both ball and optical, corded and cordless. My solution is
simple - I have three mice on my desk. I still don't always grab the
right one...

I find the genius optical mouse I have, works fine with the KVM
suppied by CJE when connected to a PC and my Kinetic RPC (the latter
via a STD adaptor)

Here I'm using a Rextron 4-port USB KVM supplied by CJE, and it works
fine with RPC, Iyonix and two different laptops. It *should* switch
using keyboard control, but doesn't - however it has push buttons.

I *think* it needs to be switched to the Iyonix when the Iyonix is
starting up to avoid funnies, but it's been while since I tried
otherwise, so I can't remember exactly what does/doesn't happen.

If it is anything like my own setup with RO4, it goes something like this.
I have to have the KVM (the brand isn't shown on the box - I picked it up
cheap in a computer fair some years ago) selected on the system I am
booting before (or as near as makes no odds) I start as the KVM will not
run the monitor if it doesn't see RO boot. If I then switch away from the
RO boot it hangs at the point where the desktop GUI starts up. Once all
the way up, however, it is pretty flexible. To change system, I just press
"Scroll lock" twice then the screen number to go to.

Never managed to get the PS2 adapter I wanted though, so I still keep two
mice handy. Yes, I sometimes grab the wrong one too!
