Re: Acorn System Computers

I dont have any System computers but I do have some unusual
Atoms :)

One is fairly standard except for a large red 'return' key instead
of the usual black, and a dual floppy drive in the regular Atom
Disk Pack.

The other is even more unusual, inside the diskpack is fitted
a board with a Z80 processor, that can optionally control the
disk drives. This is to allow 80 track floppies to be read/written.
It uses a special Atom DOS called I think 'ADOS'. The
system also includes an external 80x25 VDU card which can
be used with the Atom. This was a custom board developed
in the Netherlands in the mid 80's.

The Z80 processor can also be used to run CPM I kid you
not. It uses the VIA as a kind of tube interface :)

I have two Atoms - one stock (except that it has colour
graphics), and one that has the BBC Basic card. I suspect that neither
of these is worth anything - but I wasn't even aware that the BBC
Basic option existed before I got hold of this machine.
