Happens occasionally here too. You don't need to re-boot to
re-esatablish kb auto-repeat. I have the CtrlPanel KB config.
icon on the desktop and running this does the job. Don't know
about the Iyonix tho'.
Definitely not directly relevant to this, as my KVM is a different
make, (a MyHopper2, for two machines), and my problems are not quite
the same either, but for what it's worth ...
I have been happily sharing my keyboard, mouse and monitor with my
RiscPC and my PC, (a SpaceCube/RisCube), for about three years, now.
The only extra bit of kit being an Acorn mouse to PS2 mouse converter
connection cable.
Having recently replaced my SpaceCube with an HP Pavilion PC and my
RiscPC with an Iyonix I've had a prolonged battle to get them to share
the PS2 mouse. I've also had intermittent problems with keys suddenly
auto-repeating as though they were stuck down, but they weren't - the
keyboard is the brand new PS2 one that came with the PC.
Whereas I needed the connection converter for the Acorn mouse port,
similarly I needed a USB to PS2 adaptor for the Iyonix as that has
neither an Acorn-style mouse port nor a PS2 port, and therein lay the
problem. I had a proper adaptor, but it would only share the monitor
and keyboard, not the mouse. A second identical adaptor, (in case the
first was faulty), was no better. Replacing the PS2 mouse with two
others still did not help.
The cure eventually was to replace the second USB-PS2 with a third
'identical' one which was in fact NOT identical! It looked identical
but my supplier discovered that his source had changed some aspect of
the technical specification, (well, that's my non-techie understanding
of it, I could be wrong!), and had not seen fit to let the retailers
know about this! So, most very definitely not my supplier's fault -
especially as visually there is no change!
Anyway, doubt if this helps, but it just might point you in a
different direction.
