Help - I've lost !Draw


Hello All,

I've tried to send this message a few times via my teranews
account since the 8th of Feb but nothing has appeared on this newsgroup -
I'm sending this via my partner 's account on Tesco so lets hope for
success this time.

I have recently updated my RiscPC from RiscOS 3.7 to RiscOS 4.39
Adjust 1i2. I've also fitted a new 20gig hard drive connected to a Unipod.

It has been a bit of a struggle on a steep learning curve. It took
three goes to get the hard drive formatted and working and at least two
tries at installing 4.39 until I thought I'd cracked it, everything was
set up and stable. Then I noticed !Draw was missing from the
Resources:$.Apps directory. I also saw that !Paint and !Chars had gone,
along with a few others.

The Resources.Apps directory now holds !Alarm, !Configure, !Edit
and !Help, all of which seem to work OK.

Thinking that I needed to call up these applications from ROM, I
got hold of a copy of !Chars, !Draw, !Edit and !Paint from the Resources
directory of my sister's RiscPC with 4.02 and had a look at the files. The
!Edit ones were identical on both machines and called up !Edit on the 4.39
machine OK.

The others however produce "Error" windows with the cogs icon in
them.
!Draw produces the message: File 'Desktop_Draw' not found.

!Paint " " " : File 'Desktop_Paint' not found
and
!Chars " " " : File 'Chars:!Runlink' not found.

So I guess its not as simple as I had hoped.

Can anyone please tell me where I've gone wrong and how to fix it.
