Also, given the current lack of internet video support, is the PCI TV
system for Iyonix functional and still available? Seems like a good
compromise in the absence of video players.

PCI TV is of no use to playing video from the internet.

The point was it does bring a vast range of video media to the RISC OS
desktop in the meantime. Have you tried your's yet?

I'm very often angry about the sound system of my Archimedes machine
because it doesn't allows you to configure the volume and use it
maximal. That's why you have a really boom-boom-box at home.

I believe to remember a multimedia-unity for the old A5000 machine. You
put the case between the A5000 and the moniter. It contained a
CD-ROM-drive and speakers.

All the Acorn MEU (Multimedia Expansion Unit) was, was a CD drive!
(SCSI CD Drive in a case with two 5.25" bays. It connected to the computer
via a SCSI cable.(

Can we have the same for the Iyonix-machine?

They all come similairly equiped!

You should be able
to connect the case between the Iyonix and the moniter / screen and it
allows you also to watch DVD's?

Nothing ever existed that allowed an A5000 to play DVDs

To say at last it can be an extraordinary DVD-player with a set of
speakers and the possibility to connect the video-output from the
computer and also the moniter at the same time.

Passing an SVGA output through some form of DVD player would greatly reduce
quality, a DVD players normal output is interlaced RGB 625 x 480?
