On power up, you get a click from the speaker but that's about all. I've
checked settings in !Configure and the sound system should be working.
I've plugged in headphones and still can't hear anything. Even a
Delete-Power On and R-power on haven't helped.
As the pre-Risc PC machines only have the built in 8bit sound system,
there isn't the 8/16 bit configuration setting which can prevent the
sound system from working if not corret. If you can't F12 then Ctrl+G
to get a beep, it isn't looking hopefull.
Anything else to try or is it safe to say the audio hardware has croaked it?
Probably. You can get hold of the Technical Reference Manual (TRM) and
trace the output through from the VIDC through the analogue circuitry
to see if anything looks amiss, like a dry join or burn out capacitor,
but it probably wont be easy.
