For the last three mornings my Iyonix has stalled at the 'Connection
to DHCP Server' stage and has required turning off and on to get past
it, yesterday I had to turn off and on twice.
This has happened in the past but only very occasionally.
Is my machine trying to tell me something or is this an external
problem?
It could be telling you the cold weather is here.

Mine has always had this problem.
Ditto.
I gather there is a fix for this fault that can be applied to the older
machines that suffer from it. Unfortunately it requires some fairly
specialist SMD rework (I think it's a new network interface IC), so the
owner, Castle and Castle's SMD contractor all need to be able to agree a
mutually convenient time to get it done. So far, I've not managed to do
that. :-(
As ever, I was unaware that such a fix was available. It does not sound
cheap either unless Castle are offering it out of the goodness of their
heart. Personally I do not see it as worth the bother now, it is not a
big problem particularly as I do now have a simple work around. Unless
Vista really turns round and bites the Iyonix is more or less finished
with here.
