Re: USB pen

Martin produced a 1GB USB pen about five minutes before he was due to go
back to school and tried to get the Iyonix to read from it; the result
was that two blue 'SCSI' floppy disc icons appeared on the iconbar and
the whole computer locked up when he clicked on 'drive 0'. This was a
Windows pen drive with Windows files on it, and he wanted to use it for
data transfer between Windows machines and his own - is this even
possible, or would such a drive have to be formatted under RISC OS?

(Unfortunately he's taken the pen drive in question away with him, so I
have no more details about it whatsoever.)

Five minutes before he went back to school the *next* time, he produced
it again, and we managed to establish that clicking on drive 0 will
always lock up the Iyonix, but clicking on drive 1 produces a readable
filer window containing various Windows system files... once. Any
attempt to do anything with the pen drive thereafter produces "ambiguous
disc name" errors.

This 'drive 1' is reported by RISC OS as being only about 2Mb large,
which is confusing in light of the fact that the disc size is supposed
to be about 500x larger. :-(

The USB info reported is as follows:
