Has anyone successfully got TalkTalk broadband to work on a RiscPC?
I was assured by TalkTalk (after they went off to discuss it) that it
would work on my RiscPC. The new modem and a mass of wiring arrived
today. I followed the Apple instructions, which did not involve using
the CD supplied.
The moden connects to the computer either by Ethernet or USB. As I have
a Unipod I tried the network socket. Tried to log on using Dialup and
got the 'Modem not responding' message. Tried the USB socket with the
same result.

Different sorts of modem !DialUp uses a telephone modem, not Ethernet
which is a Lan (Local Area Network) unless you have the very latest
Version which can be configured to use a LAN.
You will have to setup the Networking side of your RiscPc, its also
possible that you may have to buy a router to use the modem with,
unless its a router modem that was supplied.
Paul Vigay has quite a lot of information on his site with regards to
this exercise.
