Has anyone come across a device for 'switching the Phone line'?You can get devices such as;
Ref 'Thundery conditions.'
ie either 'manually' switching off the phone line to the 'modem' when
the computer is not in use - instead of unplugging the lead.
Or when the power is switched off to the - Computer multi plug - the
phone line connection to the modem is broken - and the modem side -
perhaps earthed.
Any ideas?

They do not switch, but stop surges. For more about related products, go to;
http://www.belkin.co.uk and look at the "Surge Protection" item on the product menu.
