I wish I could get this far.
I've fitted my DVDRW, connected the ribbon cable and the sound wire
and put the jumper on slave.
I've run !Boot and increased the CDROM's to 2.
Put a Genesis CD into the drive.
Clicked on the :1 icon and get the message
'CD-ROM drive not found.'
What have I missed?
You seem to have omitted the power lead from your list, but that's probably
an error of listing.
But, as you're using an Iyonix, why have you set it to 'slave'?
As it's :1, you've presumably left the original CD drive in place, so the
first IDE interface is fully populated with its two devices.
Therefore you must be using the second interface. If you haven't got
something else set as 'master' on that interface, then your DVD drive
should be set to 'master'.
Mine works fine, though I haven't yet put it inside the case yet.
Well I get the same error and my DVD drive is on the second disc lead
and set to Master. Also on that lead is the caddied drive for backing
up, which is set to Slave.
The only was I can get the DVD drive to work is to turn the caddy off
with its power switch and then re-boot.
John Ballance had a look at it and said he had one or two reports of
this sort of problem, the drive settings were OK though. So I hope the
problem is bottomed in due course and a cure found.
One for the Iyonix mailing list?
