Assuming you are talking about the 6 pin Auxiliary Power Socket on the
BBC, The Advanced User Guide shows ...

Top (ie the flat end)
0v 0v
+5v +12v
n/c -5v
Bottom (ie the end with angles on the corners)

Presumably this is looking into the socket (but it is not absolutely
clear)

The 4 way connector is +5v 0v 0v +12v
but I am not sure which way round that is!
