The theoretical possibility is of a tuned circuit with a gap resonating
and producing a spark when there is a tranmission. This circuit could
be a part of the vehicle structure. I don't expect anyone (even RISC OS
users) can remember the first experiments with wireless communication
that relied on this effect; we should, at least, know the history. The
spark could then ignite the petrol vapour, lead free fuels have a lower
flash point than older fuels. Vapour recovery systems are not only
concerned with the health risks of inhalation, inmmolation is also
considered to dangerous (quite apart from disrupting sales) ;-)
