With !Zap you can use cntrl C to copy the highlighted text to the caret.
It doesnt work with firefox or netsurf, I think only between zap
windows.
Shift F3 displays the save selection (as a file) and that can be
dragged to the netsurf url bar.
My vague memory of firefox is that you open a second window, drag a url
to the window, then move it from there to the url bar.

What on earth does that mean ^ ?
I only have a limited knowledge of !Zap's usage? ;-)
In Zap, Alt double click a URL and it's sent to your browser. Thanks, then it -does- drag text in the common way, just by using Shift.
If you have a URL in Zap and don't want to Alt plus double click...
Hilight the URL Press the Shift key and hold it, hold the mouse key down
over the hilighted, pause for the icon, then drag to the NetSurf or
whatever URL bar.
This last method applies whatever the form of the text. (For example. I
wrote the last sentence in Zap, hilighted it, pressed Shift then dragged
it to the Pluto Write window.)
Works in Publisher, and OvPro.
Even more interesting...
Start a blank Zap window.
Menu- Mode > Load Mode> CSV
Now write or load in a list of data, each bit separated with a comma.
Hilight.
Press Shift, Pause for the icon then drag and drop on Eureka's Icon Bar
icon.
Same thing with Fireworkz32 if dropped on the icon bar icon.

There doesn't seem to be any pause involved on my Iyonix.
